Cheering through Life’s Seasons

On December 5, 2003, while driving due west, I witnessed the most beautiful sunset ever; the colors—pink, blue and orange—were all swirled together like a jarred sand sculpture you make as a child. That was the night my husband died and I thought the sun was setting forever. Only 27 years old and seven months pregnant with my first son, my heart carried the weight of grief and uncertainty. I remember the tears that soaked my shirt and my swollen belly beneath. My son was going to need a cheerleader – in the most fundamental sense of the word.

Varsity is teaming up again this summer with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® to support its lifesaving mission of finding cures for children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases. We want to help St. Jude kids beat pediatric cancer, and we need your team to help make it happen. We’re asking each team member to help spread the word about this great cause by sending five letters to friends and family and asking them to make a donation – that’s it. This year our goal is to raise $1.7 million, the cost to operate St. Jude for a day. With your help we can do it!

The Cheerleading Worlds-Where Real Champions are Made

Over the weekend, thousands of cheerleaders came together to celebrate the end of the season at the Cheerleading Worlds. Considered to be the most prestigious event in the All Star Cheerleading community, Worlds hosted over 50 countries in the championship, and the sportsmanship demonstrated between the teams was fantastic.
