2013 doesn’t have to be just another year. It’s a new beginning, a fresh start, and a chance to do some good.
Make 2013 the best year ever! Pick an area of interest, commit to it, and promise to make a change. Here are some ideas for your New Year’s Resolution-cheer edition!
- Dedicate yourself to being the best you can be for competition. Maybe take an additional tumbling class, call an extra stunt practice, or condition on your own without your coach telling you to. Including just one of these things will help you in the long run during competition season-and you’ll be glad you did!
- Be a better teammate. Make a promise to get along with your squad all the time, no matter what the situation is, or help out a teammate in need without being asked. Encouragement can go a long way! My favorite thing is to cheer for my teammates during tumbling to help give them that extra “push” to nail the landing.
- Make 2013 the year you reach out to those in need. Pick an event or organization to help out, whether it is a local food bank, a race for a good cause, or even a large organization like St. Jude. Cheerleaders can make a difference, and when others see you helping out, they will be inspired to do the same.
America needs cheerleaders that are committed to making a change. A New Year’s resolution isn’t something you just do; it’s a commitment you make to the entire year. Think about it, and let us know what your Cheerleading New Year’s Resolution is below!
