Cheering Your Team to a State Championship

When the Wakulla High School cheerleaders started preparing for football season they had no idea that their season would end cheering on the biggest stage for high school football in Florida- the Florida High School Athletic Association State Championship. The Transition from Game Ready to Competition Ready

“Game day we are spirit raisers for the entire school; competition we are competitors with ourselves and others”- Lori Sandgren, Wakulla High School cheerleading coach. January is the time of year that got me and my squad the most excited: The transition from being game ready to being competition ready! My squad at Wakulla High School cheered for school athletics and also competed. My coach, Lori Sandgren, knew that when January rolled around, it was time to say goodbye to game day ready practices and to lace up our cheer shoes and hit the blue mat for competition.
