Team USA Takes Home the Gold!

April 27, 2013  |  For the Love of Competition  |  No Comments

Opening ceremonies is one of my FAVORITE parts of the ICU World Cheerleading Championships every year! While waiting backstage, we were able to walk around the room and meet tons of new friends from different countries. It’s always a humbling experience to see how excited all of the competitors are to meet Team USA members and take a picture with us!

Yesterday was our last day of full practices here at the hotel before leaving to go see Mickey at the All-Star Music Resort! Practices have been going great for both Coed and All Girl and the routines are finally set. Coed has been going strong and we’re finally to the point of trying to be perfect with every motion, stunt, pyramid and basket!

The time has come for our “Super Friends” to meet again! My name is Anthony Reisch and I’m so happy to be able to represent our country at the 2013 ICU Championships with Team USA Coed for my third year. There’s a lot of new faces and great talent on the team this year and I couldn’t be more pleased to get to work with all of these athletes.

Team USA Day 1 : Meet the Team

April 19, 2013  |  For the Love of Competition  |  No Comments

I can’t believe it is already April and I am back in Orlando training for Team USA! This will be my third year to have the opportunity to represent my country and I am thrilled to be back! Even though I’ve been here before, these next two weeks are a little bit different for me because this year I tried out for the All Girl team instead of Coed. I am looking forward to this change and getting to work with and learn from the most talented cheerleaders/coaches in the country.

Reflection

When one door closes, another one opens. That’s currently the motto I am using to remind myself that even though my cheerleading career as an athlete is pretty much over, great things are ahead in my future. Every time I reach a big milestone in my life, I love to look back and reflect on what I learned and how I can use that to move forward. Let’s take a look back in time… Read More

There are no words to describe winning the gold medal again and standing on the platform with this team. We constantly came face to face with adversity and persevered. I am so proud and honored to say that I was a part of the 2012 USA World Champion team and I will never forget this experience! Until next year, GO USA!!

Team USA has finally arrived at Disney's All Star Resort and it feels like home! After a week and a half in Orlando, it's nice to be back to the place I know and love-Disney World! Before traveling to the hotel, we had our first performance last night at a local high school. It was a good experience to perform in front of a small crowd in our uniforms before we take the mat at the hp Field House.

April 23, 2012  |  For the Love of Competition  |  No Comments

We met our teammates on Monday, began practicing Tuesday and went full out Friday. What we have accomplished so far is nothing short of amazing. This is by far the most talented group of people I have ever had the privilege of working with! Our first time full out was way better than we expected, but we definitely aren't satisfied yet.

I’ve spent the better part of my life in a cheerleading gym putting together routines, but this time feels different. This time, I look around the gym and see the most talented cheerleaders in AMERICA putting together a gold medal-worthy routine--and I still can’t believe I am here with them.

Head-Over-Heels for Team USA!

December 9, 2011  |  For the Love of Competition  |  3 Comments

I’m a bit head-over-heels in love with cheerleading. I’m the type of cheer-fanatic that watches online cheerleading videos, checks out all the cheerleading fan pages on Facebook, and searches through message boards to see what cheer topics are hot these days. From my recent website browsing, I’d like to share some information that I find particularly interesting for all cheerleaders: TEAM USA TRYOUTS ARE ALMOST HERE!
